Snippit ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the Snippit Chrome Extension and the associated Studio web application.

1. Information We Collect

A. Personal Information

When you sign in to Snippit using your Google Account, we securely store the following basic information:

  • Email address
  • Name
  • Profile picture URL

This information is stored securely and is used for:

  • Authentication and account management.
  • associating your created snippets with your account.
  • Internal analytical purposes to understand user base demographics and improve our service.

B. User-Generated Content

Snippit allows you to capture screenshots ("Snips") of webpages. These images are captured only when you explicitly trigger the "Snip" action.

C. Permissions & Technical Data

The extension requires the following permissions to function:

  • activeTab: To capture screenshots of the page you are currently viewing.
  • storage: To store your authentication tokens and preferences locally.
  • host_permissions: To allow capturing screenshots on any website you choose to snip.

2. How We Use and Share Your Information

We never sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties.

  • Analytical Purposes: We key your basic profile information (Name, Email) for internal analytics to help us improve the product. This data is never shared with external advertising networks or data brokers.
  • Google Drive Integration: Captured snippets are uploaded directly to your own Google Drive storage. Snippit does not store your images on its own servers; they reside in your personal Google Drive account.
  • Data Deletion: You strictly own your data. You can request the complete deletion of your account and all associated personal data stored on our servers by emailing us at skylinedigitaldev@gmail.com. We will process your deletion request promptly.

3. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties.

  • Google APIs: Snippit's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
  • Cloud Hosting: Our Studio web application (e.g., hosted on Vercel/Firebase) may process your metadata (like filenames and Drive IDs) to display your gallery, but the actual image content remains in Google Drive.

4. Limited Use Disclosure

Snippit's use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We only request the minimum permissions necessary (e.g., specific file access or Drive folder access) to perform the app's functionality.

5. Your Choices

  • Revoke Access: You can revoke Snippit's access to your Google Account at any time through your Google Security Settings.
  • Delete Data: You can delete any snippets directly from your Google Drive or through the Snippit Studio dashboard.

6. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
